Two years ago , I was approached by this company called Turner Matheson .
(at that time the website was all nice and impressive) .
They said that they were a Canadian Based Security House and had a branch office in Macau and they got my name from the Chamber of Commerce .
As ignorant as I was , I was coaxed into signing up with them and invested on three companies ; one at a time .
As weeks past , different guys would call me and introduced themselves as the person who would be in charge of my account and the final guy was called John Carter .
About a month after each transection , I would receive a call and was told that the prices of shares I invested was dropping and it would be good to sell and cut lost ...and put the money into another company which they thought was good .
Eventually , I was recommended to put all into Andromeda Media
Capital Corporation Ltd. (OTCBB:ADMPF.PK ) ; 21,000 shares @ US$5.00/shares .
(until October 2004 , I was able to see the price of ADMPF.PK at US$5/per on Yahoo Finance site...but not anymore - very upsetting news)
Turner Matheson said that this company would be listed and the price of shares would go up . I waited and waited ....
till one day in October , when I suddenly received a letter from Turner Matheson , saying that they could no longer service my account and they recommended New World Financial Inc. They said that New World Financial Inc. would be able to help me in liquidating my Andromeda Shares and other financial services. They also sent me two Green looking certificates, with the name of Andromeda and the no. of my shares written on them .
Although I was shocked , I had no other choice but to contact New World Financial Inc. Spoke a a guy called Harrison , who said that he would be my financial advisor . Forms were sent to me , details were taken . He told me to send my certificates to Huntleigh Securities , to deposit them into my own 'bank' account. (this was in November 2004) .
I told Harrison that New World Financial has to help me in selling my Andromeda Shares , but i was told to wait , as they do not know or have any market for it . They said they will 'TRY' , but no promise .
Meanwhile , Harrison recommended me to inject money into GCI General Components , which the price of the share was at US$1.80.
True , from the webpage of General Component , they look cool and quite convincing , but I told Harrison that I wont have the funds , unless he sold my Andromeda shares .
All went silent for few months and suddenly on Monday (14 March 2005) , a guy called Nick Start called and said that he is the new financial advisor who was handed the job from Harrison , because he was too busy at the moment .
Nick Start sounded cool and spoke very fluently and professionally . He talked to me in a VERY FRIENDLY AND POLITE manner for LONG TIME over international calls (do all financial advisors in this world speak in this manner to individual private clients ? ) [Harrison did the same too - many calls and persistently ]
Nick recommended General Components shares again. He said that the price is now at US$2.25. If i were to invest now , he is able to sell me at US$2/share .
At the same time , he strongly recommended one Australian Company called Advance Medical Institute . He said that this company will be listed on NASDAQ in one or two weeks time . Their listing price will start from US$1.50 / share , but he could sell me at US$1.25/share (without 2% commission)
Now , I have looked into the website of Advance Medical Institute and the 1st impression was ; this website looks to me like one who has just signed up as an affiliated member in a pyramid business , trying to sell a product .
My 1st question to Nick after seeing the site was - 'Where is the company's address and real time contact nos. - Tel & Fax ? '
Both Harrison and Nick said that if there is any money involved , it will be myself sending or depositing into my own 'bank' account at Huntleigh Securities .
I have doubts , but I cant find the real answers to all the questions ; e.g. Are they Real ? Is Huntleigh Security really a Bank too ? Is my Bank Account real ? etc etc .
Except the website of General Components , which looks COOL & CONVINCING , the rest , including New WOrld Financial Inc and Huntleigh Securities look amatuer to me . Even my own accounts which I log in (funny thing is , Harrison and Nick have all my ID names and passwords to access my portfolio ??!? which means there is no security and confidentiality at all ?)
Nick Start gave me his contact as
Nick Start
Foreign Associate
Crd 4887819
Tel: +34 952 860256
Fax: +34 952 772379
I am scared and worried that I start to check on everything I can find on the net . I have even check on Network Solution for WHOIS (domain name) ...and all the registrations seems abit funny ; e.g. date of registrations and etc.
However I am not definite on what I find . How can I be sure that they are ALL real and not frauds ?
How can I check and be sure that I was not conned from the start ?
If I was conned , what can I do now ? Can I file a report with the police ?
If anyone of you who has the same experience to share or any good advices , please reply and comment.
While surfing the net for informations, I found FORUM (this message board) .

Just to add to my 1st Message on this board ,
Why do these financial companies who contact their clients mostly by telephones .
All strong recommendations to buy shares at whatever prices are only spoken or told over the phone?
As much as possible , they do not use emails or faxes or
letters on hard copies ?
Is the the common practice by the Financial Institutions now adays ?
Arrrgghh ..cant sleep nor eat.
Some Good Advices are needed .

This is what they state at their home site
http://www.nwfinc.com/
under Privacy:
"We obtain most information directly from customers when they apply for our brokerage services. The information is provided on new account applications or other forms and includes name, address, telephone number, fax number, email address, social security number, birth date, bank reference, family information, financial information, financial goals, and name, address, and telephone number of their employer. We also obtain Information about customers from transactional activity in their accounts, from our own interactions with customers and, with their consent, from other financial institutions if they transfer positions into New World Financial Inc..".
The above is not true. They must have got my telephone number in some other way. I have not had any connections with them or have had any transfers to them by a third part.

This is what I got in my e-mail today:
"A $1,000 dollar investment could yield a $5,000 dollar profit in just ONE trade if you trade out at the top. XXXX (name replaced by me) should be one of the most profitable stocks to trade this year.
It is only a matter of time before it is released out into
the investment community and they take it to the moon.."
Why should I be one of the first? Why do they not buy it themselves (a relative or a friend) instead? What does it cost per piece? Price: $3.00!
Bluff!

Hello Readers and all other members & friends reading this Board .
RE: FOLLOW-UP ON MY 1st MESSAGE POSTED ON Wed, 16 March 2005 05:39
I have been searching for an answer and I got to this site
http://www.alexa.com/search?amzn_id=senioricouk&am p;q=Andromeda+Media+Capital&p=TBChrome
Please read the first two reports, especially the FIRST
http://www.osc.gov.on.ca/Enforcement/Proceedings/2 004/soa_20041105_allenj.jsp
I still hate the idea to realised that I have been scammed BIG TIME , by a Financial Institution Called Turner Matheson in Macau (Their URL link is totally inactive now) .
Not only am I still not able to find a way to make a report to any Authorities, I am also not able to find a way to reach Andromeda Media
Capital Corporation Ltd. for help .
If you had read my first message on 16th March 2005 , you would probably understand that I was directed by Turner Matheson to New Financial Inc.
Without much choice , I created an account and sent them the 2 certificates Turner Matheson sent to me for 21,000 shares of Andromeda Media Capital Corporation . The two certificates were then deposited into Huntleigh Securities and sat there for about a year .
Mid of 2005, I requested Huntleigh to send the two certs.
back to me , advised by an Investment Consultant from Merrill Lynch ; Huntleigh Secirities sent back the two Certificates .
On these two share certificates it was written that they were issued by HERITAGE TRUST COMPANY OF CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I , CANADA . ( I am wondering if anyone here knows anything about this company ? )
Also , it will be greatly appreciated , if I could get any good advice(s) from you , after you read the above URL ; as to what I should do next ?
I am not sure if it will make any good , that I make a report to Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) and the police in Canada ?
( Please read this part on what 'Allen and his Salemen did' --> 22. In addition to Andromeda’s common shares, securities of one or more of the following corporations were sold to investors by the respondents: Oxford Software Developers Inc., Oxford Investments Holdings Inc., Alliance Explorations Ltd., and Instadial Technologies Corp.
For those of you out there , if you are approached by the Invesment Salesmen on any of the above mentioned Companies
or are asked to invest on shares of companies prior to Listing on NASDAQ etc - PLEASE !! DO NOT EVEN LISTEN OR TRY , or you will end up like me - scammed big time .
Will be coming back here to search for good advice.

Hello 'Ingvare' ,
When I start to think about my money of US$105,000, my heart bleeds . No one is able to understand how painful this can be unless you are in my shoes now . (Though I still hate to believe that I have totally lost this amount to scammers . I am still praying hard that God will lead someone to help me out and send me back my hard-earned money )
It is good to know that Nick Start has increased your capital by a factor of 1.5 .
I have nothing against Nick Start and your investment.
Try to sell and ask for a return of your CASH once you feel you are profitting enough .
Come back here and tell us all about it , if you had your TANGIBLE CASH safely back in your OWN bank account .

Exactly the same happened to me but I don't have such a lot of money involved. The latest thing is that I was approached by Nakamoto International Group in Japan to purchase my shares at a price of $19.25 per share and they claim that a forwar 4way split was done giving me 4000 shares in Adromedia. Totoal value now is $77000 but these shares are restricted and I need to have the rstriction liftes at a cost of $0.85 per share. Doing some research I founf the following on the web:

Dear jmarkj,
After doing some research, I have reason to suspect a scam. Have they
provided you additional information, like a website address, e-mail,
telephone number or anything else?

Answer Subject: Re: Nakamoto international group Wakamatsu Bldg. 3-3-6 Nibonbashi Hon-cho Tokyo 103- Answered By: scriptor-ga on 08 Feb 2006 11:07 PST Dear jmarkj,
I have done more research, and even without additional details about
who the callers claimed to be, I can say for sure that they are
fraudsters.
What they are trying to do is one of the many variations of "Advance
Fee Scams". This particular variant is rather common; it is also known
as the "Cold Call" scam method. The basic principle of those scams is
always the same: A share owner gets a call out of the blue - a
so-called "cold call" - by an alleged company and is asked to sell his
shares at a tempting price. Then, the caller claims that a refundable
advance fee must be paid by the seller to remove the "restrictions"
from the shares. This advance fee is known under various names,
"restriction fee" being only one of them.
Such offers are always scams. In the United States, there are no
restrictions on selling private stock, and therefore there are no
"restriction fees" that need to be paid in advance. Once a such fee is
paid, the money is lost for the scammed stock owner; and of course, no
one will buy the shares. Interest in those shares is only simulated to
make the stockowner pay the advance fee. This kind of scam exists in
numerous variants.
Please note what the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission says
about such frauds:
"Advance Payment Requests — Regardless of how the fraudsters pitch
their offers to “help”, there’s always a catch. Before they will
complete the deal, they first will ask for an upfront “security
deposit” or “margin payment” — or claim that you must post an
“insurance” or “performance bond.” The minute you pay the advance fee,
the fraudsters nearly always disappear — leaving you with new losses.
If you seem willing to make further payments, the con artists may
instead keep asking for more — falsely claiming that the market price
of the security has changed or that the payments will cover additional
fees, taxes, bonds for the courier service, or other similar expenses.
Only when you finally run out of patience or money to chase your
losses do the fraudsters disappear for good."
http://www.sec.gov/investor/pubs/worthless.htm
You might also be interested in what the National Association of
Securities Dealers (NASD) writes about this and similar frauds:
http://www.nasd.com/web/idcplg?IdcService=SS_GET_P AGE&nodeId=1357
By the way, I also checked the Tokyo address. While Wakamatsu Building
indeed exists, it is managed by a company that provides "virtual
offices" (Scammers often use such virtual offices that are actually
nothing but mailboxes as so-called "boiler rooms"). It is not the
physical location of that company, and I doubt that "Nakamoto
Internarional Group" even exists, for the following reasons:
- There are absolutely no traces of this company anywhere on the Web,
which is already highly suspicious. There is a real Japanese company
of a similar name (Nakamoto International Accounting Firm), but they
are accountants, and they are located at a completely different
address.
- "Nakamoto International Group" is not listed anywhere in the List of
Licensed Financial Institutions maintained by the Japanese
Government's Financial Service Agency
Therefore, there can be no doubt that they tried to scam you. I advise
to not do any business with them.
